Explore Your World: Shakespeare and The Other: The Merchant of Venice and Othello In-Person / Online

A six-week mini course that will explore Shakespeare and "The Other." Othello and Shylock are Shakespearean representations of The Other, those who live outside, but often serve the dominant culture. How do we read Othello and The Merchant of Venice today and, what may they have said to the audience in the early 17th century? We will also see The Other in The Tempest. Presented by Professor Bob Comeau of Union County College. In-person at the Liss Meeting Room for those who wish to participate in the discussion and via Zoom for those who wish to observe.

Funding for this lecture series is made possible by the Manley-Winser Memorial Fund.
