What is home sharing? HomeSharing, Inc. has been providing shared, affordable housing alternatives in New Jersey for over four decades. They match people in need of affordable housing with those who have more housing than they need. People wanting to home share come from all walks of life: people with a change in household composition or going through life transitions; people with a reduction in income or low-income individuals; individuals and/or families at risk of homelessness; people needing the safety and security of not living alone; home providers needing (non-personal) service in exchange for a reduced or free monthly housing fee. All HomeSharing matches are based on common interests, affordability and the individuals’ requests and needs.

A representative from HomeSharing will explain the basics of home sharing, including the application process. HomeSharing, Inc. does not charge a fee to home seekers or home providers for our services. They are a private, non-profit organization and their services are financed by individual and corporate donations, grants, foundations and fundraising events.
