Serendipity: Talk like a Pirate Day In-Person

September 16 - Bear Breaks Into Chocolate Factory!  A true story from Estes Park, Colorado.   Let’s make something chocolate, yummy and fun!   (Parents:  We will wear masks and latex gloves.)

Sept. 23 - Talk like a Pirate Day - Ahoy ye maties, hear Pirate tales and sea chanties.  Learn pirate-speak and teach your parents a rad way to say “dinner is served.”  Make your own pirate costume accessories.   

Sept. 30  Jug Band Jump and Jive - Be in the Jug Band, play the washboard, the limberjack,  and the spoons, etc.    Sing, hear fun stories, and cook up some magic cornbread.

October 7 - friends.com - live action play, mad scientist creates a computer program to connect new kids in town with new best friends who come sliding out of the huge 1965 computer.

Craft:  Create your own “old-time computer.”

Oct. 14-  “The 3 Bears’ Chairs,”   Come and try out the 3 Bears’ Chairs, and see a musical shadow puppet play “Goldie and the 3 Bears.”  Next we’ll act out the funny Appalachian folktale, “The Great Big Bear.”   Craft:  Make bear paw tracks.

October 21   Baseball - Let’s celebrate our National Pastime with funny stories and great songs plus act out the world series right in the library.   Baseball lacing craft.

October 28 - Halloween Hoot and Holler - You’ll Hoot and Holler when you hear spooky stories and spookier silly songs.   Bring a Halloween joke to tell, ex. “When the ghost kids get in the car, what does the ghostly mom say?……… Fasten your sheet belts!”

Make a Halloween decoration for your home.
