Healthy Pasta Alternatives In-Person
Pasta is a dish almost everyone loves. For some, pasta is a way of life. For others pasta is an occasional treat because it is a high-carb dish.
While there is value to traditional pasta, which contains complex carbohydrates, essential nutrients such as iron, vitamin B and folic acid, there are other alternatives for those who want to avoid high carbs and/or wheat.
Journalist Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta will talk about healthy alternatives to traditional pasta, made from such ingredients as brown rice, quinoa, chickpeas, lentils, seaweed, buckwheat, squash, and more. The class will include samples for all, plus a gift card raffle, and giveaways. In person. Limited seating. Registration required.
