Chinese Corner (Grades K-5): Chinese Songs and Poems In-Person

Sunday @ 3:30-4:30 PM:  Chinese songs and poems

Learn songs and rhymes that are popular in China

Chinese Corner is a Chinese Immersion program hosted by the Summit Free Public Library and led by the volunteers of the Chinese Club, held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays during the school year.  Our group of dedicated volunteers of all ages have created lots of fun and engaging topics for all ages, including games, contests, stories, talent shows, and more!

Ever wonder what children in China like to sing or read? You may be surprised to find out some songs you are familiar with are also popular in China albeit in a different language, while others are unique to the Chinese audience. If you are a fan of rhymes, you’ll likely enjoy poems that children in China learn to recite at a very young age. In this Chinese Corner, we’ll sing together a few popular Chinese children’s songs and read out loud some of the most well-known Chinese poems that date more than 1,000 years ago. Come join us!

Registration for each program opens the week prior to the current week’s program. Please register in advance in order to receive the zoom link.
